After driving home from the beach on Saturday (all day), we were home for three entire days before packing up in the car again and driving again! We left Wednesday around lunchtime for Jennifer's parents' house in North Carolina. We celebrated Thanksgiving together with BeBe (Jennifer's mom), PopPop (Jennifer's dad), Shelle (Jennifer's sister Michelle), Jon (Michelle's husband), and Tattoo (Jennifer's sister Heather). It was the first time we've all been together since February, and the first time we've all celebrated a holiday together in years! We had such a sweet time together.

Mom did so much work ahead of time that there wasn't much to do on the actual day! So, Thursday morning was relaxing and fun, just spending time together:
Meg loves the piano!
Micah and Uncle Jon
Meg with "Shelle"
Having fun on the porch swing
My sweet, beautiful girl
We had a delicious Thanksgiving meal together (look familiar?)
Micah even got some sweet potatoes to celebrate Thanksgiving.
We had our big meal for lunch. After naps, we went to visit some dear family friends. The moms are good friends, the little sisters are good friends, and the oldest brother and I were good friends in high school. (The middle son and his wife weren't able to be there) We saw the oldest son and his family back in February (they live in Raleigh), and it was nice to get our children together again!
Micah and Daniel - our boys are just five months apart!
All the children
The whole group - we're like one big family. :)
At home, as we were getting ready for bed, Micah found his feet! So cute.
We put the children to bed. Then we did something crazy. Bill and Heather went to stand in line at Best Buy. I slept for about an hour, then Mom, Michelle, and I hit the midnight opening of Target! (Mom and Michelle were too high on adrenaline to sleep!)
Ready to go get some bargains!
We hit Target at midnight (the line to get in was all the way down the shopping complex!), then Heather joined us and we stood in line at Belk for the 2 a.m. opening. Mom and I ran into Penny's when they opened at 3 a.m. and then we came back to the house and crashed. It was absolutely nuts -- but really fun. I got almost all my Christmas shopping done in one night! :) And we have some great Target stories to tell about getting the last Kindle and refusing to let a pregnant lady steal our shopping cart!
On Friday (after sleeping in just a little bit thanks to my sweet husband), Mom gave Meg her first real haircut (not a trim).
A little distraction with a book to help keep her head still!
Helping clean up!
Meanwhile...
Micah's shirt says "My Grandpa Digs Me"
Starting him early!
PopPop's brand new Camaro (red, of course)
Friday night, Nana and Grandpa (Jennifer's grandparents) came over for dinner and to celebrate Bill's 30th birthday (on the 27th). They got to meet Micah for the first time!

This picture makes me laugh - it's totally staged... which is what always seems to happen with my family, and yet we always insist on taking a staged, blowing out the candles picture!
The entire family!
(I can't believe Meg is actually looking at the camera and
smiling... that's got to be some kind of miracle!)

We drove home on Saturday. When we pulled in the driveway, Bill and I looked at each other and said, "Let's not drive anywhere else for a long time!" We had two great trips, but we are also happy to stay home for a while!
