Bill didn't want to take the camera with us, but I insisted. Not long after we arrived, I needed to feed Micah, so I sat on a hay bale and fed him while Meg and Bill played in the corn. I was forced to sit and just soak in the day (the weather was glorious, by the way). As I watched Bill and Meg playing and all the other people with their children, I realized that a lot of people were taking pictures, but not very many were really enjoying and playing with their children.

Bill never thinks about taking pictures, but since we've been married he's come to appreciate them more. On the other hand, I think I am learning from Bill that sometimes you have to live the moment you're trying so hard to capture on film. I'd much rather enjoy my children than have good pictures of them. So, right then, I let it go. We took a few pictures, but I let go of the need to capture all the perfect moments. I didn't get the pictures I wanted of the four of us or the children sitting amidst the pumpkins. That's okay. Meg and I walked through the pumpkin fields and talked about the life cycle of a pumpkin. We rode the hayride and saw some cows. Meg got to really play with her daddy. It was a great day.
